Hildred Neff, 96, of Harrisonburg, VA died November 29, 2012 at her residence.

She was born December 15, 1915 in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the
late Lewis C. and Vivian Higgs Neff.

Hildred was a business woman who raised livestock and fruits and vegetables and
was co-owner of J. E. Plecker Florists. She was also a gracious landlady for
many years. Although Hildred had no remaining family during the last years of
her life, she had the gift of creating family and enriching the lives of others.

Hildred had a special love of animals, especially cats, and contributed
generously to organizations that promote their welfare. Friends are invited to a
graveside service at 11:30 on Monday, December 3rd at Woodbine Cemetery in
Harrisonburg and to gather afterwards at a luncheon to celebrate Hildred's life.

Those wishing to may make gifts in her memory may make a contribution directly
to the Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. These gifts
will be directed to a fund established in Hildred's name for the care of
domestic animals and wildlife. Alternatively, a gift in her memory may be made
to one of the charities she supported; the SPCA, Cats Cradle, the Shenandoah
Valley Spay and Neuter Clinic or the Wildlife Center of Virginia.

Arrangements are entrusted to Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. There will be no
viewing or visitation at the funeral home
