Spanish and French Royalty. His secular name was Alfonso Jaime Marcelino Manuel Victor Maria de Borbon y Dampierre, Duke of Cádiz. He was a legitimist pretender to the throne of France between March 20, 1975, date of the death of his father Jaime de Borbón y Battenberg, and his death. Married to Carmen Martínez-Bordiú y Franco, grandaughter of Generalissimo Francisco Franco Bahamonde, and father of two children: Francisco de Asís de Borbón Martínez-Bordíú and Luis Alfonso de Borbón Martínez-Bordiú. He was Knight of the Orders of Malta, Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George, Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Maurice and St. Lazarus, Polar Star of Sweden, Royal and Distinguished American Civil Order of Elizabeth the Catholic. He was also Provost of the Chapter of Knights Hispanoamericano Corpus Christi in Toledo. He died tragically in a skiing accident at Beaver Creek, Colorado.
