Sally was the 9th of the 11 children of Johann Martin and Catharine Barbara (Schertel) Ilgenfritz. She married Daniel Hake in May 1813 at Christ Lutheran Church in York, Pennsylvania. They had six children all of whom are listed below except for the oldest Sarah whose memorial number is # 9189621.

In about 1818 Daniel and Sally are said to have moved from York county to a farm near Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. If so, Sally presumably returned to York for the births of sons William, Daniel and George. Some time between the birth of George in 1822 and 1829 when Daniel's son David by his second wife was born, Sally died. One possibility is that she died from complications of child birth in 1825. The records of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle include the christening of Catharina, daughter of Daniel Hech and his wife Sarah on May 11, 1825. She is not listed with the family so, if this is the right family, mother and daughter may have both died in 1825.
