A native of Laurens County, he was the son of the late Avery Swink Duckworth and Beatrice (Abercrombie) Duckworth.
A member of Bramlett United Methodist Church and the High Point Club Senior Group, he was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Hughes Duckworth of the home; one daughter, Madonna Turner of Laurens; one son, Jimmy Duckworth of Woodruff; one brother, Avery Duckworth; nephew, Roger Duckworth and his wife, Shirley and 2 grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Donald Duckworth.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday, September 20, 2012, at 3:00 P.M. at Bramlett United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Renee Garrison.
Visitation immediately followed the graveside service in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to, Hospice Care of SC, 100 Plaza Circle, Clinton, SC 29325.
