Hugh Richardson Jr and Sarah Susannah Brown married on October 3, 1849 at Aurora, Whitchurch Township, York County, Ontario
They farmed near Penville, Tecumseth Township, Simcoe County, where they raised their family of 10 children
Hugh died 7 weeks after sustaining an injury when a horse ran away
Children of Hugh and Susanna:
* Emily Richardson (+ William Coon)
* Hugh Edwin Richardson (+ Mary Ann Mills)
* Samuel Allen Richardson (+ Eliza Jane Mills)
* Ester Ann Richardson (1856 - May 04 1862)
* Mary Jane Richardson (+Samuel Leatherland)
* Wesley Richardson (+Christina Reesor Spink)
* William Richardson (+Ada Christine Hickling)
* Susannah Richardson (+ Jesse A Mills)
* Edward Britton Richardson (+Caroline B Clark)
* Lillian May Richardson (+Rev William S Irwin)
NOTE: Hugh is comemmorated on his wife's gravestone at Mount Tegart Cemetery, although he was originally interred at Penville Wesleyan Methodist Cemetery, near their farm. However most of the remains at Penville may have been removed to Mt Tegart in the 1880s when that small burying ground was closed and the land was sold. Therefore this Memorial represents the stone inscribed at Mt Tegart, and the marker at Penville may possibly be a Cenotaph; removal has yet to be confirmed
