Mr. George R. Knight one of Marion's best citizens died Tuesday. The funeral services were held at the house Thursday, Rev. Seymour officiating. He is survived by his wife, three sons and one daughter.

George Ray Knight died Tuesday morning Nov. 10th at 10:30 o'clock after a long illness at his home on Fourth street. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence, Rev. E.A. Seymour, pastor of the Baptist church officiating.
George Ray Knight was born in Chester county, Pa., July 28, 1854. He came with his father's family to Linn county when but three years old. At the age of twenty-four he was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Burns. To this union were born seven children, three dying in infancy and John with their mother survive him--Chester, Harlan, Adessa, wife of Ray Sell and Merle and two grandchildren Dorothy Knight and Gaylen Sell. Besides these and many friends he leaves to mourn his death one sister, Mrs. James Squires of Hawarden, Iowa, and two brothers, Passmore and William of Center Point, Iowa.
