Mrs. Jane Knight, 78, resident of Linn county for 73 years, died Wednesday morning after a long illness at her home, 1032 Fourth street.
As Jane Burns, one of twelve children born to Solomon and Margaret Burns, she was born August 10, 1858, at Mercer, Penn. She was married to George Ray Knight March 6, 1878. Seven children were born to them. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1914, and three children, Wesley, Maggie and Frank. Surviving are three sons, Chester Knight of Hibbing, Minn., Harlan F. Knight and Merle Knight of Marion, and one daughter, Mrs. Roy Sell, of Cedar Rapids; also two sisters, Mrs. William Alexander of Marion and Mrs. Philip Bunting of Cedar Rapids; one brother, George Burns of Marion.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 at the First Baptist church, the Rev. Loren Inman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Shad cemetery.
