Pauline Wilhelmina Mulling grew up in Germany and married Herman Abel in 1849. The children born in Germany were

In 1857, the entire famiy left for America and settled near Burlington WI and added more children to the family:

Her husband served for several months during 1865 in the Civil War. Just after, the family moved to Hutchinson,MN in 1866 and lived near the Acoma Church and later moved to Hutchinson where Herman worked as a brewer at the Kleineman Brewery. Herman died in 1883 and Pauline moved in with her daughter, Pauline, where she lived until her death in 1902.
