Spc. Genaro Bedoy, 20, of Amarillo, Texas, assigned to 52nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., died Sept. 16 in Zabul province, Afghanistan of injuries suffered when their position was attacked with small arms fire.

Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by LaGrone-Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors.
Mr. Bedoy was born on Nov. 21, 1991 in Amarillo, Tx. He grew up Amarillo and graduated from River Road High School in 2010. He married Patricia Chavarray in Nov. 2011. He joined the United States Army in November 2010. Genaro was an avid Denver Broncos fan and loved football. He loved his family and looked forward to being home with Sofia and Patty whom he adored. He enjoyed hanging out with his friend, Garrett Dorman who was the best man at his wedding. Mr. Bedoy loved cooking and playing video games on his playstation. He was a devoted and loving husband, and father He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Francisco Quiroz.
He is survived by his wife of the home, one daughter, his parents of Amarillo, two sisters of Amarillo, four brothers, all of Amarillo, his grandparents of Jalisco, Mexico, and of Carlsbad, NM and his step-mother of Amarillo. Names of living relatives omitted per Find a Grave guidelines.
