Eunice Marie Nylund passed away while in the care of Grace Home on Monday, September 17, 2012. Eunice was born in McGehee, Arkansas, to Earl and Dollie Tullis October 4, 1928. The family moved to Bossier City when she was a child and she lived here the rest of her life. She met and married Kurt Nylund while he was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base and they had two children, Howard and Marie. She was foremost a homemaker and mother, but was employed outside the home at various times. Eunice was an active member of Waller Baptist Church and served the Lord by helping with the day care, Sunday School, Awanas, Vacation Bible School, and as a member of the Golden Pioneers. She was an inspiration to many during her years of involvement with OA.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Marie, brothers, Arthor and Marvin Tullis and great-granddaughter, Emily. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Kurt, her son, Howard Nylund and daughter-in-law Carol, granddaughter, Ginny and husband Mike Saunders, great-grandsons, Joe Phillips, Sonny, Sammy and Seth Stroman, numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.
A loving, giving person, she will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
Honoring Eunice as pallbearers will be Bill Tullis, Brad Tullis, Joe Phillips, Bobby Phillips, Barry Arnett and Jim Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Hal Becker and Mike Saunders.
