Iona Vera Turner (nee McMullin), beloved wife of the late Fred Hyde Turner, passed away peacefully in Taber on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at the age of 97 years.
Iona is survived by three children XXX Turner of Calgary, XXX of Taber and XXX Turner of Taber; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Doloris Scoville, two sisters-in-law Jane McMullin, Joan McMullin and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred Turner, son-in-law Ronald Haynes, sister Clarice and three brothers Nolan, Robert and Donald McMullin.
Iona was born in Raymond on August 25, 1913 to Ruby (nee Eames) & Wesley McMullin. She married Fred Turner on October 3, 1936. They lived in Picture Butte as newlyweds, later moving to Raymond before settling in Taber. Fred was employed with the sugar factory for forty four years. Iona also worked at the sugar factory for twenty four years. She had fond memories of the people she associated with during that time.
