CIVIL WAR: Jeremiah enlisted in the 90th NYI on 10/23/61. He married Mary Elizabeth Johnson on 10/29/61 and is shown as a deserter as of 11/5/61. On 8/15/63 using the name William Smith, he enlisted in Co. B, 13 NYHA. On 7/18/65 he (and all of the 13 NYHA which has not yet been discharged) were transferred to Co. I, 6th NYHA from which he was mustered out 8/24/65 at Washington, DC. Widow Mary applied for a pension in 1890 but was denied.
