Death of Mr. Thos. D. Saunders

Mr. Thomas D. Saunders, an old citizen of this place, died suddenly at his home in Kansas City, on Sunday evening. He moved from here to Kansas City several years ago, and lived at 1701 Park avenue, The Kansas City Times of Monday contains the following:

"T.D. Saunders died suddenly last night at his home, 1701 Park avenue, from the effects of neuralgia of the heart. He was 67 years old. Mr. Saunders was sitting on his front porch about 6 o'clock last night enjoying the cool breezes, when he was observed to suddenly grow pale, and, springing from his chair, he fell to the floor unconscious. He was carried into the house and medical aid summoned. Despite all efforts, however, he did not regain consciousness, and died an hour later. He had suffered with heart trouble for some time past. The deceased was formerly a well known photographer in this city. He retired several years ago. One of his sons is a member of the Fifth regiment, Missouri volunteers, now at Chickamauga, Ga., and the funeral will not be held until his arrival, which will probably be Wednesday."

The remains of Mr. Saunders were brought here Wednesday morning and buried in Machpelah. But few of our people knew when or where the interment would take place. He was a brother-in-law of Mr. B.T. John. He was an upright citizen, an indulgent husband and father. He leaves a wife and family, all grown, and many warm friends to deplore his loss.
