FUNERAL HELD FOR MRS. WM. MUEHLER
Pioneer Mother Died Sunday at Her Greendale Home

Mrs. Wm. Muehler, faithful Christian wife and pioneer mother of Greendale Township, passed away at her home on November 9th, at 7:40 o'clock. Mrs. Muehler suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on Oct. 21st, and her condition continued critical until Sunday, death following several successive strokes that day. Deceased was 66 years, 2 months and 23 days old.

Funeral services were held today at the home at 1:30 and at the Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock. Rev. W. Cordts conducted the services.

Bertha Augusta Wilhelmine Muehler, nee Ziegelman, was born August 17th, 1875 in Hubbard Township, near Woodland, WI. A few years later her parents, Fred and Bertha Ziegelman, moved to North Dakota settling in the vicinity of Great Bend. Here in 1890 she was confirmed by the Sainted P. Hinck and here too the same pastor joined her in wedlock with William Muehler on October 29th, 1896. They at first made their home near Great Bend but in 1911 moved to Greendale Township, where she resided until her death.

Mrs. Muehler saw much of sorrow and tears in her later life. On March 19, 1919, her husband was taken from her by death and of her twelve children three daughters, Anna, Ella and Bertha died.

She leaves to mourn their loss: her nine children: John, of Fairmount; Emma, Mrs. August Medenwaldt; Albert, Henry, Mary, Mrs. Henry Sanders, all of Hankinson; Amanda, Mrs. Clemens Buck, of Fairmount; and Gustave, William and Adolph at home. Besides these there are sixteen grandchildren and four sisters and six brothers.
