Leroy Smith, 81, a lifelong resident of Polk County, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility following a lengthy illness. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Duracell. Most recently, he was a resident of Morningside of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Oma Jane Chambers Smith; brothers, Arnold Smith and Delbert Smith; and granddaughter, Amanda Sloan.
He is survived by his sister; children; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Delano Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Higgins Funeral Home with the interment following.
