Age: 85
A. Louis Bergsma, 85, Highway 120, Springfield, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at his residence.
He was born March 26, 1921, in Genoa City, the son of Peter and Philomena Wirrig Bergsma.
Louis married Rosemary Behl July 19, 1947, in Hebron, Ill. He was a general contractor in the area for the past 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; daughters Pamila (Larry) Kundert, Lake Geneva, Susan (Ted) Fellows, Minerva, Ohio, and Barbara Bergsma, Lone Rock; sons John Bergsma, Lake Geneva, Michael (Linda) Bergsma, Darien, and Peter (Mary) Bergsma, Lake Geneva; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Frank Bergsma, Richmond, Ill.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Albers; two sisters, Loretta Speckman and Marie Dohrn; and a brother, Robert Bergsma.
Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007, at the Steinke Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ted Fellows of the Berean Bible Church, Minerva, officiating. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
