"Mrs. Carrie Lawyer"

"Carrie Ida Hall, daughter of Robert and Sarah B. Hall, was born near Liberty Center, Iowa, on Dec 14, 1870, and departed this life May 4, 1931. Age 60 years, 4 months and 20 days.

She was converted to Christ and united with the Methodist church in Liberty Center early in life and has retained her membership with that church and has been a faithful christian worker ever since.

She was united in marriage Aug. 21, 1891 to Harry J. Lawyer, who preceded her in death Sept. 20, 1924. To this union were born eleven children, eight of whom are living: Mrs. Zola Caviness, Mrs. Hazel Spencer, Merr and Karl, Mrs. Ethel Martin, Mrs. Inez Hess, Mrs. Velma Newman and Helen. Three children, Wayne, Gracie and Gladys, who departed this life at an early age. She leaves to mourn their loss the children, nineteen grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Emma Miller, of Liberty Center, Mrs. Addie Spencer, and two brothers, John and Warren, of Lucas; Charles Hall, of Canada; also a host of relatives and friends.

(The following poem was written by Mrs. Lawyer:)
‘When the silver cord be severed,
And our sun is set forever,
Our spirit takes its fight to worlds beyond;
Where the mist is rolled away, In that bright, eternal day,
We shall meet and know each other there, at dawn.'

The services were conducted by the Rev. Chester Cooper. Beautiful hymns were rendered by a mixed quartet: Mrs. Hazel Mills, Mrs. Viva Klinger, Homer Puderbaugh and Ross Young, with Mrs. E. Foust at the piano. Interment at Liberty Center Cemetery.

Cards of Thanks: We wish to thank the many neighbors and friends for their many deeds of kindness and sympathy; also the many beautiful floral offerings.--The Lawyer Family."
