Norman R. Trimble, 89, of Glen Campbell, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at his home.
The son of Elmer and Estella Grace (Webster) Trimble, he was born on Jan. 3, 1929, in Gipsy.
On Sept. 15, 1946, Norman married the late Norma Jean (Mumau) Trimble, and they had shared 71 years of marriage when Norma died on Nov. 6, 2017.
For 30 years, Norman was employed as a welder with American Bridge.
Norman was a longtime member of the Montgomery Township Rod and Gun Club and a member of the Glen Campbell American Legion.
He is survived by his three children, Nancy Smith of Emlenton, Norman "Roy" Trimble and wife Sherry of Glen Campbell, and Christine Tate and husband George of Clymer; his former son-in-law, David Matko, Sr. of Urey, and David's brothers, Dan, Rink, BoJoe and Stevie Matko, who were like family to Norman.
Also surviving are Norman's 11 grandchildren, Wendy Stohon, Judy Ann Pierce, Barb McCall, Allen Smith, Jr., Carrie Barnett; Michael Barnett, Steven Barnett, Jennifer Faught, David Matko, Jr., Megan Matko and Jacob Tate; his 11 great-grandchildren, James Lee, Jr., Alison Burk, Jessica Holley, Kimberly Smith, Haleigh Smith, Gregory Geisler, Lucy Faught, Nora Faught, Rory Faught, Dawson Matko and Bryn Matko; and his five great-great-grandchildren, Kenlee Smith, Haven Smith, Estella Smith, Brooklyn Geisler and Miaa Geisler.
Norman was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Eleanor Trimble of Monaca and Della Trimble of Aliquippa; brother-in-law Roy "Babe" Mumau and wife Kay of Glen Campbell; and sisters-in-law Peggy Buffone and husband Jim of Glen Campbell, Cuba Small and husband Charlie of Glen Campbell, and Vada Soltis of Concord, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his two daughters, Bonnie Jean Trimble and Judith Barnett; son-in-law Allen Smith, Sr.; grandson Christopher Smith; great-great-grandson, Tristan Hopkins; four brothers, Thomas "Brove," Edwin "Mick," Philip and Lynn Trimble; three sisters, Emmaline Conner, Shirley Symeki and Jeannie Parshall; sister-in-law Coleen Smegal and husband Adam; and two brothers-in-law, Guy Mumau and Steve Soltis.
Family and friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018.
Interment will follow at the Thompson Cemetery in Hillsdale.
