FLORENCE GRUNEWALD
Florence B. Grunewald, 88, passed away Friday, April 28, 2006 at Morningside
Health Center where she had been a resident.
Florence was born Sept. 18, 1917 in the town of Centerville, Manitowoc County,
to the late Paul and Martha (Witthuhn) Boeldt. She attended local schools. On
Sept. 22, 1934 she married Herbert Grunewald, he preceded her in death October
20, 1997. Together the couple had a dairy farm for many years in the Town of
Meeme. Florence was a member of Bethel U.C.C. for many years. She was active
with the choir, and the Ladies Aid. She was employed by Lakeland College over
30 years, retiring in 1982.
Florence is survived by her son Glenn Grunewald of Sheboygan, her daughters,
Gloria Hunt of Kenosha, and Bernice (James) Betzold of Fordland, MO. She is
also survived by 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-
grandchildren, her brother Robert Boeldt, and many nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her son Gerald, a brother Orville Boeldt and a sister Aroma
Kuhfuss.
Funeral services will be held for Florence Thursday, May 4, 2006, at 11:30 a.m.
at Zimmer's Westview Funeral & Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ). The Reverend
Sarah Morse, Pastor of Bethel United Church of Christ will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time
of service. Burial will follow services at Bethel Cemetery in the town of Meeme.
The family would like to thank the staff of Morningside Health Care for the kind
care they provided for Florence. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
