Mary Kathryn "Mary Kay" Carter, 38, of Villa Grove succumbed to cancer at 1:55 a.m. Sunday (July 18, 1993) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Private graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 20 in the Villa Grove Cemetery. Phil Wills officiated. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21 in the Victory Church, Camargo, IL. Joines Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Mary Kay was born May 16, 1955, at Tuscola Jarman Hospital, a daughter of Kenneth Verne and Mary (Wells) Talkington. She married and divorced David Burnett. She married Chris Carter on Jan 5, 1982. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Mary Davis of Sidney; three sons Cole and Cohen Burnett of Camargo, and Christopher Carter, Jr. of Villa Grove; two daughters, Courtney Burnett and Christen Carter of Villa Grove; two brothers, Michael Talkington of Champaign and Jim Talkington of Mahomet; three sisters, Lorraine Collins of Rose Hill, Darla Bell of Macclenney, FL, Margaret Talkington Bonnell of Champaign and Karen Al-Helwani of Homer.
She was preceded in death by hr father and an infant brother.
Mary Kay was a nursing student at Parkland College.
