Died in this city, at the residence of her son-in-law, Alexander Nugent, No.
7 Falkland Street, Sunday at 5 o'clock a.m., SARAH E., wife of the late Joseph
A. Rolland, aged 45 years.

Funeral will take place from Disciples' Church tomorrow, Tuesday, afternoon,
at 3:30 o'clock. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend.

Mrs. Sarah E. Rolland, wife of the late Chief of Police, Joseph A. Rolland,
died at her residence Sunday afternoon after a long and lingering illnes of
thirteen months. Mrs. Rolland, before her marriage, was a Miss Hutchings,
daughter of Mr. & Mrs. D. Hutchings. She had a large circle of friends in
Norfolk, and was a devoted member of the Disciples Church, from which her
funeral took place yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. It was very largely
attended and the floral offerings were extravagantly beautiful. Rev. Henry
Minick, pastor of the church, conducted the funeral services, after which
the
remains were conveyed to Cedar Grove Cemetery, followed by a long line of
mourners, and interred. The pall-bearers were Messrs. C. E. Pettis, P. M.
Mordica, W. S. Wilbern, W. H. Harrison, John Saulisbury, W. T. Pulley, John
Grook and J. W. Beasley.
