SKELLYTOWN - Memorial services for James Thomas Nichols, 76, were at 10 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, Borger, with the Rev. Roger Harworth, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

He died Sunday, Sept. 10, 1995 in St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo.

A native of El Paso, he had been a Skellytown resident since 1982. He was manager for a frame shop in Pampa. He was a member and an elder of First Presbyterian Church. He was owner-manager of lumber yards in Tulia, Silverton, Wiley, and Mesquite. He served on the Lake McKenzie Water Authority, was a member of Kiwanis, Masons and Shriners. He was a World War II U.S. Coast Guard.

He married Juanita Gray on June 3, 1947 in Dimmitt.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mary Anita King of Boulder, Colo.; Marcia Kaynells Morgan of Skellytown; a brother, John William Nichols of Tulia; and a grandson.

Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo or the Memorial Fund at First Presbyterian Church of Borger.

Casketbearers were Paul D. Miller, Earl Bell Crosby, Henry Russ, J.D. Stockton, Eddie Harlan, Peter Marsh, Barney Boyd, and John Durham.
