He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Wilmoth Nunnelly of Chase City; his parents, Charles and Devora Oliver Nunnelly; his three brothers, Eugene "Scritch", Arthur "Tiny" and William Nunnelly; and his two sisters, Frances Ragsdale and Bertha Abernathy.
