Daniel Pittinger, married Elizabeth Biggs circa 1733 in Somerset county, NJ. She was the daughter John Biggs and his first wife Eve Lambertse Brink.

After the death of John Bigg's wife Eva in 1735, the two families migrated to Prince George's County, Maryland, in 1737 or 1738. The land they settled in 1748 became part of the newly formed County of Frederick, Maryland.

Purchased "Royenton Plains" from Henry Munday 1745, and leased Lot # 3 of the "Monocracy Manor", March 30, 1745, which was next to his father in law John Biggs. The Monocracy Manor consisted of 8,983 acres, a large land grant issued to Daniel Dulaney. In March of 1732 the proprietor of the Provence of Maryland desired to attract settlers to the Northern and the Western areas of his territory. Any person having a family to come to the land within three years of the proclamation and actually settle on the land could have two hundred acres without payment for 3 years. After 3 years the settler had to pay to the proprietor four shillings sterling for every hundred acres.

The colonies indued the French and Indian War which began in 1755. All settlements of the western parts of Frederick County eventually came under attack. They were killed, tortured and buried out by the French and Iroquois Indians.
