YOUTH, 18, DIES IN COAL MINE
Thomas Bresman [sic], 18 years old of Capitol park, a miner in the Sangamon Coal company's mine at 2300 Phillips avenue, was instantly killed at 2:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon [Aug. 23, 1923] when he was caught between two cars. There were no witnesses to the tragedy. Screams of Bresman [sic] brought fellow workers from nearby entries who found the young man in a dying condition.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Noll, Springfield Rural Route No. 1; four sisters, Helen, Marie, Bertha and Amelia; four brothers, Carl, Edward, Clyde and Robert.

MINE VICTIM PAID HOMAGE AT SERVICE
Funeral services for Thomas Bresman [sic], 18 years old, who lost his life Thursday when caught between two cars in the Sangamon coal mine, were held at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Rev. Father P.J. O'Reilly officiating.

Interment was made in Calvary cemetery.

Frank Singer, Mike Flynn, Peter Erbert, Eddie Reynolds, Francis Osterberg, and Andrew Phillips were the pallbearers.

A verdict of death from injuries accidentally received was returned in an inquest conducted.
