DEATH OF HENRY SASSEN
Henry Sassen, a well known resident living four miles north of this city and formerly of St. Libory, passed away last evening at his home after about a month's sickness of dropsy. Mr. Sassen was in the city for the last time about Thanksgiving and was taken ill shortly after.

Mr. Sassen was born in Germany Sept. 25, 1847 (sic). When 15 years of age he left the Fatherland for America in the year 1862. In 1882 he came farther west to Carroll county, Iowa. In 1887 he moved to Humphrey, Neb. and then moved to Oregon to spend a few years. In 1890 he moved to St. Libory with his family and took up farming and lived there until four years ago when he moved to the farm just north of the city. Besides his wife there are seven children to mourn the loss of their father. They are Miss Anna Sassen, Mrs. John Hostler of Abbott, Mrs. Ida Hostler (sic) of this city, Miss Mary, Miss Theresa, Edward and William Sassen who still live at home.

The funeral will take place Thursday morning at 9:30 from St. Mary's Catholic church. Rev. Sassen of Iowa, a brother of the deceased, is expected here to attend the funeral.
