John is not buried in Iowa. He lived in Wis, went to Mobile Ala for military service. Was captured and shortly after became seriously ill (believe scarlet fever) and died in military hospital. Believe buried in mass grave with no marker. My grandmother Bessie Ann Clary Sill is a granddaughter of John and his wife Malinda. Many years ago she requested and received a copy of his Military record which verifies the above statements. Grandma stayed in Wis until 1872. Some of the older children stayed in Wis on or near the family farm when Grandma M moved her younger children to central Iowa. She was accompanied by siblings, aunts and uncles and their families on this trip. Many families relocated near other family members in southern Warren, northern Clarke and western Lucas counties.
