Bernadette Galligan Haight, 47, of Brentwood, TN, a former Ridgefielder, died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on September 1, 2012, after a brief illness.
She was the mother of Kelsey and Alden Haight of Brentwood, TN, and the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Galligan of Ridgefield.
Bernadette was born April 4, 1965, in Stamford, CT. She was raised in Ridgefield and was a member of St. Mary's Parish. She attended Ridgefield Schools, graduated from Ridgefield High School in 1983, and continued her education at Fitchburg State College and Post University. She was a resident of Ridgefield until 2003 when her advancement in employment brought her family to Brentwood, TN.
During her 18 years with TYCO United States Surgical Corporation, Bernadette honed her customer service skills by serving in different departments culminating with her position as Director of Customer Service. These experiences served her well when she joined American Color Graphics as Vice President of Customer Operations in 2002. She later went on to become the owner of KAT Management Consultants in 2006.
Bernadette was well-known for her love of cooking and entertaining. She was always willing to share a recipe or one of her delicious creations.Bernadette valued her many friendships and enjoyed staying connected through social media. She will always be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and her bright and beautiful smile.
In addition to her children she is survived by her brother Michael Galligan of Ridgefield; sisters Dorothy Doty and husband William of Ridgefield; Mary Feneley and husband Craig of Oak Hill, VA; her sister-in-law Stacy Galligan of Washington, CT; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John Patrick Galligan, Jr., in 2006.
A Memorial service was held on September 6, 2012, in Franklin, TN.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Ridgefield on Monday, September 17, 2012, at 10:15 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
