Jesse was the youngest son of George Pierce
and Lydia Roberts. He was born circa 1749. Information about his life is scarce, but in 1775, he is mentioned in his father's will. i. A year later, in 1776, he followed his older brothers to Guilford County, NC. ii. He appears to have moved westward, into Surry County, NC, where a Jesse Pierce is found living near Forbush Creek, in Captain Stow's District between 1794 and 1800. iii. Jesse was originally listed as having died ca. 1766 around age 16. That data conflicts with references in a 1775 will and Quaker records as well as tax records of the neighboring county.
