Clarice Sheffler, 74, of Hutchinson, died Sept. 11, 2012, at Elm Grove Estates. She was born May 3, 1938, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was a 1956 graduate of Hutchinson High School, and attended Hutchinson Junior College. Clarice worked at Dillons for 33 years, and retired as manager of the Advertising Dept. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, the United States Bowling Congress, the Hutchinson Women's Golf Association and was very active with the Sky Ryders Drum and Bugle Corps for many years.

Survivors include: sons, Bill Sheffler and wife Kristi of Hutchinson, and Eric Sheffler and wife Jerrilynn of West Point, New York; a sister, Carol Keever of Washington state; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Clarice was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and two sisters.

Cremation has taken place. The memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Tim Carey presiding. Inurnment will have previously occurred in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. A register book may be signed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Emanuel Lutheran Church, or the donor's choice, sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
