Funeral services for William "Bill" Bartholomew, 73, will be Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Pattillo St. Church of God, Hartselle with Pastor John McPeek and Pastor Rob Hurt officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 8 at Roselawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Bartholomew, who died Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Decatur General, was born July 10, 1939, in Wilson, North Carolina to P.D. and Gladys Bartholomew. He worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer in Morgan Co. (1970's) for nine years and in Insurance Sales for 25 years. His hobbies included golf and travel. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School, loved his church, enjoyed life even in pain and loved his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his wife and children. He always said, "Praise the Lord anyhow, Hallelujah!" He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include, his wife of 50 years, Brenda Smith Bartholomew; son, Scott Bartholomew (Tanya) of Midlothian, Texas; daughters, Jill Bartlett (David) of Danville and Brooke Hurt (Rob) of Arlington, Texas; brother, David Bartholomew of Lugoff, South Carolina; sister, Judy Bartholomew of Birmingham; grandchildren, David Bates, Hannah Bates, Amanda Hurt, Matthew Keenan, Patrick Keenan, Natalie Bartholomew, Jason Bartholomew, Rachael Bartholomew, Daniel Bartholomew and Grace Bartholomew.
Pallbearers will be David Bartlett, Jason Pepper, Jeff Ward, Bobby Robbins, Jimmy Robbins and Jason Tucker.
