Son of Johann "Ludwig" aka "Lewis" Riedwielens and Barbara Bachler who immigrated from Germany before John was born. Husband to Sarah Skinner Steiner. Father to Jacob, Catherine, Elizabeth, Abraham, Mary, John, Jesse, Nancy, and David. He was a "planter" and master weaver. Although he was of the right age to have served in the Revolutionary War, no records have been found to date to support this. He died at age 44.

Inscription

In 1937 it read: Died Oct 19,1802, age 44. In 1985 the marker was crumbled.
