Ilga Kragh, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Rye, NY, Wilmington, NC, and Starksboro, VT, widow of A. Douglas Kragh, died Friday, May 9, 2003, at home. Born in Riga, Latvia, she was a daughter of the late Fricis and Anna Lidums Preiss. She attended Suny State University in Westchester County, NY, and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Mrs. Kragh was a tutor of German and Russian languages and literature. She enjoyed classical music, history, and reading in which she preferred biographies, autobiographies, history, and non-fiction. A lover of international culinary arts, she also liked to travel overseas.
Survivors include two sons, A. Peter (Sonia) Kragh, Lexington, KY, and Dr. Gero (Misha) Kragh, Columbia, SC; a daughter, Vigo Kragh, Westford, six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gaida Tilts, Sierra Vista, AZ. Private family services will be held at a later date.
