Died 7:20 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 1993, at Golden Age Nursing Home, Denham Springs. He was 81, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Livingston. He was a retired Exxon Co. USA pipefitter. Visiting was held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 5 to 9 p.m. Monday. Visiting after 10 a.m. until religious services at the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. James E. Chandler and the Rev. Charlie McCants. Burial in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery. Survived by wife, Aria Averett Arnold, Denham Springs; a daughter, Mary Gail Arnold, San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Donald Ray Arnold, Walker, and James Edward Arnold, Metairie; four sisters, Beulah Smith, Walker, Daisy Murphy, Texas, Lillian Hebert, Plaquemine, and Wilma Cronan, Baton Rouge; three brothers, Ameal Arnold, Walker, H.J. Arnold, Baton Rouge, and Louis Arnold, Lyons, Ore.; and seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, J. Fred and Alice Shaffett Arnold; and a sister, Eula Peyton. Pallbearers will be Valmond McConn, Joseph Cronan, Jerry Smith, Lloyd Hebert, Jerry Benton and Elder Ray Arnold. He was a member of Springville Baptist Church and Exxon Retiree Club.
