Mary, wife of Joseph Moyer and daughter of J. M. Roose, was born 1 1/2 miles east of Wakarusa, Ind., Dec. 12, 1863, and died at her home in Harrison township, Aug. 27,1901, aged 37 years, 6 months and 15 days. For several years she was a sufferer of consumption, but throughout her affliction she exhibited a cheerful disposition and without a murmur acquiesced in the providence of God. She was a devoted wife, a peaceful neighbor, and possessed an amiable character. The high esteem in which she was held was evinced by the last tribute in her memory. She was a member of the Evangelical church. Her father, mother and one brother preceded her in death. She leaves seven brothers, two of whom are ministers of the German Baptist church, and three sisters to mourn her early departure. Rev. J. Wise officiated at her funeral, using as a text Mark 13:35-37.
