She was born May 17, 1887, in Morgan County, a daughter of Adam and Mariam Kennard McElfresh. She had been a resident of Philo since 1923. She was married to Cussius Chappelear June 14, 1904. He died in 1963.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Muriel) Staley of Philo and Mrs. Clive (Lucille) Mowry of Sacremento, Calif.; a son, Gerald of Hanover; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Clyde E Thompson Funeral Home in Duncan Falls after 7 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m Friday. Services will be held at 1 p.m Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Guy E. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
