Garland "Boo Boo" RAMEY, 98, of Wayne, WV., died Monday, September 10, 2012, at home.
He was born September 11, 1913, at Stiltner, WV., a son of the late J.C. and Molly Ramey.
Garland was a member of the Laurel Freewill Baptist Church, the NRA and friends and family alike remember him as an avid banjo player.
His wife of 57 years, Lena Ross Ramey also preceded him in death, along with one son, Bernard Garland Ramey, two grandsons, James Garland Lucas and Shaun Vance, one great- granddaughter, Barbara Renee Nicely, four brothers, and six sisters.
Survivors include two sons, James Shelton Ramey and his wife Emogene, Odell Ramey and his wife Nilene, two daughters, Barbara Queen and her husband Sammie, and Glenna Vance all of Wayne, seven grandchildren, Lena Dello, Shannon (Jennings) Noble, Marie (Rick) Maynard, Toni Ramey, James Dale Ramey, Karen (Mark) Howerton and Shannon Odell Ramey, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home, with Brother Jerry Casteele officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Community Memorial Gardens.
Visitation after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
