Father Terry was born October 12, 1935, in Memphis, TN.
He was educated at Memphis State University and The University of the South, Sewanee. He was a beloved pastor to many during his ministry as an Episcopal priest. He served as Deacon at Christ Church, Nashville, TN. Following his Ordination to the Priesthood he served at the following churches: Trinity Episcopal Church in Fulton, KY; St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Hick-man, KY; St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church, Franklin, NC; St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Lexington, SC; and St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Batesburg, SC.
Father Terry loved his family and is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Cheryl; his four children, Kim Kirby of Arkansas, Beth Fredricksmeyer of Colorado, Hal Cobb of Charleston, Jennifer Mueller of Florida; and their children - his ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Cobb of Memphis, TN.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011, at St. Albans's Episcopal Church, Lexington, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to York Place Episcopal Church Home for Children, York, SC, or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
