Virginia LaMarr Wall-Hare, 86, died peacefully on January 17, 2017, with family by her side. Born on November 8, 1930, in Ft. Worth, Texas, the daughter of H. Frederick McGinney and Virginia Pinckney Highberger.
Known as LaMarr by her friends and family, she was loved by all who knew her.
Her's was a life well lived. She always called Houston her home. With her husband by her side, they raised three children, ran a family business and volunteered in many philanthropic endeavors. She was a gifted artist, avid sailor and enjoyed playing tennis in her spare time. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Virgil R. Wall, Jr., son, Virgil R. Wall, lll, and daughter, Tara L. Collins. She found love "the second time around" and married lifelong friend Mr. O.O. (Buddy) Hare.
LaMarr is also survived by her son, Patrick M. Wall and wife, Susan, Son-in-Law, David R. Collins and wife Jeanne, sister Mary Katherine Jezek and husband Eugene, brother Fred McGinney and wife Peggy. Grandchildren include Erin Wall Johnson and husband, Alex, Shannon P. Wall, David R. (Russ) Collins and wife Kelly, and Michael R. Collins. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Addison and Bentley Collins and Olivia Johnson. In addition, she is survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins all of whom adored her.
The family would like to thank Carly Brock and the staff at Bayou Vista - Eagles Trace for their expert care and support, and to her caregiver Mary Collins, whose endless patience and respectful loving support helped ensure that her last months of life were safe and happy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association and/or Camp Hope - PTSD Foundation of America.
The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, January 27, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM; and a funeral service Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039; followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
