John G. Allison, 78, of Marion, Indiana, passed away at the hospital in Marion on Saturday morning, April 28, after an illness of three months. He had been in the hospital for three weeks.

Mr. Allison was born in Nashville, March 2, 1884, the son of Alonzo and Jennie E. (Minor) Allison. He was editor of the Brown County Democrat, owned by his father for some time. He was also the brother of the late George Allison, whose "Whittlings" are often reprinted in the paper today. George also worked on the paper.

He was married to the former Clara Wayman, who preceded him in death February 28, 1938. They made their home in Hamblen township for a time and for the last twenty-five years had lived in Marion, Indiana. Five children were born to this marriage, one son, Raymond, is deceased. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning at Bond's Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Warren Chafin conducting the rites. Burial was in Goshen Cemetery, Hamblen township. Pallbearers were: Carl Allison, James Campbell, Lawrence Taylor, Floyd Taylor, Elmer Wayman and Earl Parker.

Survivors are two sons, Harry Allison, Mishawaka, Indiana; Marcus Allison, Marion, Indiana; two daughters, Mrs. Merle Fox, Michigan City, Indiana; Mrs. Alma Kleindorfer, DeLand, Florida; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
