George Allison of Nashville Dies Following Second Amputation.
George A. Allison, 73, of Nashville, a former resident of Columbus and a printer by trade, died Thursday night in the Indianapolis Medical Center where he had been confined for one month.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning in Nashville.
He was the husband of the former Helen Adams of this city, a sister of Mrs. Herbert King.
Mr. Allison was a former printer on the old Columbus Herald and had been an employe of the mechanical department of the Brown County Democrat for 30 years until illness forced him to retire.
He had suffered from hardening of the arteries and had both legs amputated during the past year. One leg was amputated a year ago and doctors amputated the other two weeks ago.
Besides the wife he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harold Coleman and Mrs. John Neal, both of Bloomington; a son Harry Allison, and three brothers, Lon, John and James Allison.
