Gerald Thomas "Jerry" Woolworth, 78, a resident of Central, LA since 1969, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012, at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Jerry was born to Eurmin Jasper Woolworth and Beulah Lyle Atkinson on May 1, 1934 in Flint, Genesse County, Michigan. He attended the local schools and joined the Navy for two years. He graduated from Devry Institute in Chicago, Illinois, and worked for Burroughs Corporation which later became Unysis. He met his wife, Noreen Lavryl Reimers, a native of Washburn, North Dakota, in Chicago and they were married July 25, 1959 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Lavryl, his father Eurmin, his mother Beulah, his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Harry Hickey, sisters, Marjorie Mangold, Wilma Mangold, Beverly Burnette, and Judy Spencer, his brother, Don Woolworth and brother-in-law Bucky Watkins. Jerry is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Neil Camp of Central; his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Erin Woolworth of Baton Rouge; his grandchildren, Sarah and Daniel of Valdosta, Georgia; Sean and Patrick of Baton Rouge; his sister-in-law, Juanita Woolworth, sister Betty Watkins, brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Dawn Woolworth, brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Janet Woolworth, brother and sister-in-law, Linda and Francis Nielsen, and brother-in-law, Warren Spencer; and many nieces and nephews. Jerry and Lavryl were members of Grace Bible Baptist Church in Denham Springs, LA. Pastor Jerry Dodson will be officiating at the funeral services. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge at 9595 Florida Blvd. 5pm to 7pm Friday, September 7, 2012 and 9am until funeral services at 10am Saturday, September 8, 2012. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical center for their kindness and care of Jerry and his visitors. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Diabetes Association..
