Naomi Humes, 85, of Burlington,
were Sunday at Neptune Funeral
Home, Burlington, with the Rev.
Don Denton officiating. Burial was
in Ball Hill Cemetery.
She died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday,
Jan. 1, 1981, at her residence.
Born Nov. 21, 1895, in Carroll
County, she was the daughter of
Andrew Young and Dora Elizabeth
Cragun Shanklin. She was married
March 20, 1917, to J. Carlisle
Humes, who survives.
A lifetime resident of the Burlington
area, she was a member of
the Cutler Presbyterian Church.
Surviving with the husband are a
daughter, Fay Sheagley of Watseka,
Ill.; a son, Robert Humes of
Hopkinsville, Ky.; 10 grand
children; and 19 great-
grandchildren.
Two daughters preceded her in
death.
