JOHN SHANKLIN--FORMER HEAD OF FRANKFORT'S POWER PLANT DIES AT HOME NEAR ROSSVILLE
Frankfort, Indian--August 30--Funeral services for John C. Shanklin, 61, long-time resident of Frankfort, Indiana and one-time secretary of the Frankfort Electric Light & Power Plant will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian Church of Cutler, Indiana with burial in Ball Hill Cemetery in Carroll County, north of Sedalia.
Mr. Shanklin died Monday at his home, three and one-half miles southwest of Rossville after an illness of several months. He had resided in this city for 20 years and only recently established his home near Rossville.
A son of Andrew and Dora (Cragun) Shanklin, he was born near Logansport on February 22, 1877. He married Vera Sibbitt on February 22, 1898, and they soon afterwards established their home in this city. For a number of years during his early childhood he lived with his parents in Carroll County.
Survivors are the wife; three sons: Robert of Rossville and Fred and Bert Shanklin, both of Sheridan; one daughter. Mrs. Ross Snyder of Frankfort and four sisters: Mrs. E.E. Stevens of Bringhurst; Mrs. C.V. Quinn, Mrs. Carlisle Humes of Cutler and Mrs. Lloyd Beard of Rossville.

JOHN C. SHANKLIN DIES AT ROSSVILLE
John C. Shanklin, 61, a former Carroll County resident, died Monday at his home three and a half miles southeast of Rossville. He was born in Logansport and in 1898 married Vera Sibbitt. For several years he and his wife lived on a farm near Cutler.
Besides his widow, he leaves three sons: Robert of Rossville; Fred and Bert, both of Sheridan; a daughter, Mrs. Ross Snyder of Frankfort; and four sisters: Mrs. E.E. Stevens, Bringhurst; Mrs. C.V. Quinn of Delphi; Mrs. Carlisle Humes of Cutler and Mrs. Lloyd Beard of Rossville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Presbyterian Church of Cutler. Burial was in Ball Hill Cemetery.
