On Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, Lewis H. Full of Elizabeth peacefully concluded his earthly journey following several weeks of hospice care at the residence of Steve and Treva, his son and daughter-in-law.

Lew is survived by his wife of 59 years, Iris Mae (Stalnaker) Full; four sons and spouses: Gene and Jo of Vienna, Mike and Ruth Anne of Elizabeth, Steve and Treva of Elizabeth, and Jeff and Renee of Wexford, Pa.; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Lew is also survived by two siblings and spouses, Billy A. and Doris Full of Mineral Wells and Homer and Karen S. McFee of Melbourne, Fla., and brother-in-law, Howard H. Hunter of Carey, Ohio.

Lew, born Aug. 11, 1930, was preceded in death by his parents Cecil L. and Laura S. (Brown) Full; brother and sister-in-law Bobby J. and Marjorie (Givens) Full; and sister, Wanda L. (Full) Hunter.

A long time resident of Wirt County, Lew was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church. Retiring in 1990 from the DuPont Washington Works with 27 years of service, Lew continued serving his local community, completing nearly 30 years as councilman and mayor of Elizabeth. During his tenure as mayor the town initiated and completed the significant expansion of the town's water and sewage facilities, extending the lines to many of the outlying communities in the county.

Coordinated by the Busch-Kimes Funeral Home, visitation and memorial services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15 with visitation at the Bush-Kimes Funeral Home between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon, followed by services at the Elizabeth Baptist Church with an hour of visitation at 2 p.m. and the memorial service at 3 p.m.
