Iris Mae Stalnaker Full was born on May 24, 1935, in Sandyville, West Virginia a daughter of Romie Orville and Martha Jane Watson Stalnaker. She married Lewis Homer Full on April 13, 1953, in Sandyville. They had four sons, Lewis Eugene "Gene" Full, Michael Laverne Full, Steven Bruce Full, and Jeffery Craig Full. She died on December 27, 2017, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, at the age of 82. Her body was donated to the West Virginia University Medical School.

Iris M. (Stalnaker) Full, 82, of Elizabeth, WV went home to the Lord on the morning of December 27, 2017. Iris is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis H. Full. She is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law: Lewis E. (Gene) and Jo, Michael L. (Mike) and Ruth Anne, Stephen B. (Steve) and Treva, and Jeffrey K. (Jeff) and Renee, along with 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Iris, a dedicated, involved, and long-term resident of Wirt County, was born in Jackson County, WV to Romie and Martha Jane Stalnaker. She is preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, Frona (Dimple), along with her brother, Eugene Stalnaker, and sisters: Erline Cunningham, Eloise Yanov, and June Arthur. Iris was involved in many local activities including being a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church, local American Cancer Society chapter, 4H leader, Daughters of America, and was a founding member of the board for the Coplin Memorial Community Health Center. Iris worked several years for the Wirt County Health Department, and facilitated securing the legislative funding and construction of the current health department building. Iris’s last act of giving was the donation of her body for medical research to the WVU Medical School in Morgantown, WV.

Iris will be remembered for her love of friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved birds, butterflies, and cooking new recipes and colorful dishes. She enjoyed life to the end.

A memorial service will be held at the Elizabeth Baptist Church on January 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Interment at Center Valley Cemetery will be conducted by private ceremony on a later date. In honor of Iris’s charitable nature, the family requests donations in lieu of flowers to the donors’ local non-profit charity of choice.
