Mrs. John Wilson, one of Effingham's most beloved women, passed away Sunday evening at 7 o'clock after an illness of heart trouble that confined her to her bed two weeks, although she had been in failing health for some time.

Mrs. Wilson was conscious to the last, and she left this veil of suffering and sorrow peacefully, a nice ending to the tranquil life she had lived. Medical aid was given and loving hands labored unceasingly to relieve her suffering that at times were intense. Mrs. Wilson realized her condition but was calm and deliberate even to the extent of making some of her own funeral arrangements.

Grace Arnett was born January 13, 1872 at St. Paul, Kans. In 1886 she was united in marriage to John Wilson, at Galesburg. Seven years after their marriage they moved to the Aaron Best farm east of Effingham, for a year's residence when they moved back to southern Kansas. Forty-four years ago they returned to this locality and purchased the farm home now owned by John Weber.

Twenty-three years ago they sold the farm and purchased the home in Effingham, where Mrs. Wilson's death occurred as did her husband's Aug. 2, 1934.

Surviving are four children, Elmer, of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Ernest Bishop, Mrs. Guy Cooper, Effingham, Mrs. Roy Happel, Monrovia. A son Howard died 29 years ago at the age of 17 years.

Thirteen grandchildren are also left to mourn the departure of a beloved grandmother. They are Frank Bishop, Pittsburg, Kan.; Mrs. Wm Giles, Houston, Texas; Leroy Bishop, Woodville, Miss.; Marvin and John Bishop, Effingham; Clyde and La Verne Wilson, Kansas City; Donald Cooper, Los Angeles, Calif., Howard, Alice and Dorothy Cooper, Effingham; Charles and Dale Happel, Monrovia. Wm Stacey Giles, Jr., is a great grandson.
