Fern Marcelin was born Sept. 16, 1913, near Olga, N.D., where she grew up and attended school. On Jan. 18, 1933, she married Edward J. Chaput. They farmed near Langdon. He died in 1979. In 1982, she moved into Langdon. She entered the medical center in 2001.
She is survived by three sons, Delenore (Evelyn), Cooperstown, David, Evans, Colo., Joe (Tina), Erskine, Minn.; three daughters, Edi Ann (Robert) Otto, Osnabrock, N.D., Mary Lou (Gary) Schissler, LaSalle, Colo., Darlene (Bill) Brooks, Langdon; two sisters, Alma Lebrun, Larimore, N.D., Louise Stevens, Langdon; 22 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday from 3 to 5:30 in Brooks Funeral Home, Langdon, with a prayer service at 8 in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Langdon.
Funeral: Tuesday at 2 in the church.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Langdon
