Mrs. Amanda May Rambo, 82, beloved pioneer Hingham resident, died at a Havre hospital at 3:15 o'clock this morning after a long illness. She had been a hospital patient for nearly a year.
Mrs. Rambo was born at Mattoon, Illinois, on December 3, 1867, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Pearson. She was married at Diamond, Missouri, on March 8, 1884, to the late Oliver P. Rambo.
The Rambos homesteaded south of Hingham in 1911, moving there from North Dakota, where they had lived for six years. They established one of the pioneer families in the Hingham area.
Mr. Rambo and a daughter, Mrs. A. Acton of Hingham, both died in 1942. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ole Brevik of Havre; two sons, Reuben A. Rambo of Kevin and William Rambo of Hingham; two sisters, Mrs. Guy Morgan and Mrs. Kate Roberta, both of Carthage, Mo., 16 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. A brother, Henry Pearson, lives in Kansas.
Mrs. Rambo, a kindly neighbor and friend, was cheerful during her long illness. She was a devout member of the Lutheran faith.
Funeral services have been tentatively set for Thursday afternoon at the Hingham Lutheran Church with the Rev. Milo E. Lee officiating.

Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda May Rambo, 82, pioneer Hingham resident, who died Monday morning at a Havre hospital were conducted yesterday afternoon at the Hingham Lutheran church.
The Rev. Milo E. Lee officiated at the services. Mrs. Ed Stelter and Mrs. Syvert Nordby sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset" and Joseph Simon sang "Near to the Heart of God," accompanied at the piano by Ruth Kindschy.
Pallbearers, all grandsons of Mrs. Rambo, were Dale Brevik, Arthur Rambo, Earl Rambo, Ralph Rambo, Jack Rambo, and Roy Rambo.
Following the service, the Lutheran ladies aid served dinner for the Rambo family at the church
