Mr. James Burgess Condon, 93, of Deep Creek, formerly of Taylorsville, died of congestive heart failure on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
He was the husband of Virginia Welsh Condon for more than 59 years.
Born Oct. 26, 1907, in Taylorsville, he was a son of the late Burgess and Amelia Barnes Condon.
He was employed by Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. for over 40 years in the commercial services and contracts department.
He was a member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church and the Taylorsville Cornet Band.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, traveling and feeding wildlife.
He was a member of the BG&E Retirees Association.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Burgess James Condon of Ellicott City; one sister, Ruth E. Shaw of Taylorsville; one granddaughter, Kelley M. McIver of Westminster; and two great-granddaughters, Ashley and Irelyn McIver, both of Westminster.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the funeral home, with the Rev. O.F. Kibbe, of Taylorsville United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Taylorsville United Methodist Cemetery.
